Marko S. Markov was born in Bulgaria. He received his BS, MS and PhD degrees from Sofia University, Bulgaria. He was 22+ years Professor and Chairman of Department of Biophysics and Radiobiology. He was invited professor in a number of European and American Academic and Industry Research Centers. He was professor in Oakland University, MI; Mount Sinai Medical Center New York, ECC Buffalo. He was teaching basic courses of physics, biophysics, environmental science as well as some specific physics and biophysics courses.

Dr. Markov was Adjunct Professor at ECC, Buffalo giving lectures on Environmental Science during 5 years. He created the first in the USA course on Science of Disasters and wrote a textbook for the course. He created SOP for disaster preparation and action for ECC.

Dr. Markov is officer on energy and environment for NATO and WHO. He organized and edited 5 special issues of journal The environmentalist and two for journal Electromagnetic Biology and Medicine.

His commercial affiliation includes a series on contractual appointments in Bulgaria and the US (since 1993 Dr. Markov was VP of research and Development for three US Companies, engineering and distributing devices for magnetic field therapy).

Dr. Markov is honored citizen of Tcherven briag (Bulgaria), Courtea de Ardes (Romania), Newport (Rhode Island). He got a Medal “Man of the Year” from International Biographic Center in 1996 and is listed in “Dictionary of International Biographies” in 1996.

Dr. Markov is co-founder of International Society of Bioelectricity, European Bioelectromagnetic association (EBEA), International Society of Biomagnetism, International Society of Bioelectromagnetism. In 1987 Dr. Markov was organizer of UNESCO project “EMF and mankind”. In 2005 he was co-director of the NATO advanced research workshop on Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Fields. In 2011 he was co-director of NATO sponsored advanced research Workshop on the impact of physical and chemical factors in condition of elevated radiation background In 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010,2012, 2014 he was Program director and co-chair of the International Workshop on Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Fields in Greece,Sicily, Malta, Turkay, Bulgaria..

Dr. Markov is well recognized as one of the best world experts in clinical application of electromagnetic fields. Dr. Markov was invited speaker at 69 International Meetings. He has 282 papers and short communications at various International meetings. His list of publications includes 192 published papers. Dr. Markov has been author and editor of 14 books describing basic physics principles and their application in medicine and environment. He is a member of the editorial boards of Journal of Electro- and Magnetobiology, Journal of Electromagnetic Biology and Medicine, and The Environmentalist

His work, both as educator and industry professional includes analysis of existing information, creation of methods for analysis of scientific and clinical data, knowledge of various statistical methods.
